Draw Night 1

alright, I was able to get some time at work (because the printer broke again) to scan in a few drawings from last night, I am only going to put two up because the printer is being fixed right now and I'll have to get back to work real soon.
I had a really good time at draw night, and it was exactly what I needed to get my motor running. I don't remember the last time I was so enthused to draw. anyway, like I promised here is the drawings. (ha! here is the drawings, I sound like a goon)

the elephant is my favorite, and I actually "finished" it. the other is from a story that Ethan told last night, it was really funny and I just had to capture Ethan shaving his legs.

no pictures

no pictures in this post, I just wanted to let everyone know how the draw night went. that being said, it was fantastic, and I am very pleased with the results. when I get time to scan/photograph the drawings I will post them here. though there is really only one I truly enjoy looking at. of course, only liking one isn't a big deal, because I was able to see improvement in my art. not only that, but I can see where I need to improve. mainly, the figure and anatomy.

until I post next, keep your pencil on your paper,
Ryan

Cowboys

I know all I've been posting lately are sketches, but I'm posting this one because I got a new game called Bang! it's a very fun game, and it's western themed. I didn't draw this one after I got the game though, it was actually about a month ago and I was reminded of it by my game. I plan on coloring it soon, possibly starting tomorrow, but it all depends on my schedule.
also, I'm trying to start a draw night with a few local artists close to my age, I got this idea from Jon Diesta's blog (http://jondiesta.blogspot.com/). I love finding a blog that inspires me, and he's got links to other artists' blogs as well, which were also rather inspiring. if you're interested let me know, I'm in the West Valley/Taylorsville UT area. Tuesday night is looking to be the night.

art is funner with inspiration

to be brutally honest, these are just some really dumb, quick sketches. I'm not exactly proud about the way they turned out, but I am glad that I finally was able to sit down and just draw for a while. I spent the most time on the image of the girl, and the other two were a few minutes tops. very happy to have some slight inspiration once more. art is funner when you have it.

no reference beast, in graphite

I know I just put up two pictures of the beast, but I drew a picture for a close friend of mine as a going away gift. her favorite disney movie is beauty and the beast, so it seemed fitting. I hope you like it, I enjoyed drawing it. no reference used.

it's always more fun for me to draw a picture for someone else than it is to draw a picture for me. I understand that practicing is important, and I do practice, a lot, it's just more fun when I am going to give the art to someone I care about. anyway, any comments or critiques are appreciated. I've drawn up some thumbnails for a storyboard, and like where it's going, I might post it but I want to keep the story under wraps for a bit.
