Dinosaurs!

:D Right now I am a little bit loopy because I needed to take some benedryl. however, I felt the need to update my art blog. these images aren't high quality, just from a point and shoot camera and some very poor level adjustments. however, I did paint these magnificent beasts! this is my first experience in painting, and I have a lot of take aways from it. I want to continue to paint, but I fear I will not have time. anyway, this is in a friend's child's bedroom. the kids love it. :)

Procrastination leads to a dump.

Well, it's been a LONG while since I posted, however I have not stopped drawing! (okay, for a while I did not draw as often as I should have... if at all.)

I have been on a drawing kick as of late and I am loving it! so I decided that I should dump it all in this blog. for those of you who check it, I hope that you enjoy it! I make no promises to the regularity of future posts however.

I decided to start sculpting once more. this is fantastic! I love sculpting, although this project is going to stretch my abilities greatly I feel. It will be good. :D

well, at draw night I had some time to draw! imagine that! this is what I came up with, it was done in about 6 minutes.

Why is it such a big deal everytime I actually draw something? this is ridiculous, I don't want to have to preface each post with "I finally started drawing again!" how lame.

this was a sketch I did just barely. I'm pleased with the progress I am making. mainly the fact that I put pen to tablet just now, and came out with something relatively good.

Women! @_@

well, valentine's day was yesterday. let me express my frustration with Women here.
simply put; I can't draw them. it's frustrating! ha! and you thought I was going to start complaining about dating and stuff like that! you thought wrong. anyway, I really have a difficult time with women. I honestly don't spend a lot of time with the female body (which can be considered a very good thing) so I don't understand well the way the curves come together, the structure of the face, etc. it's frustrating to me because I think that Woman is the most beautiful creation out there, yet I am unable to render it! here is my attempt from this evening.

well, there is a problem. I recognize it as such. I am also trying to solve it. haha, I have been drawing very little as of late. in fact, I drew today for the first time in a long while. I mean really drew. I took my sketch pad and put my pencil to paper. nothing on the sheet really looked good, however I am happy to be drawing once more. I hate not drawing. soon I will be posting pictures on this blog and making use of it once more.

Face time

So this Sculpture has gotten the most face time on my humble blog, but I do like it a lot. It's first appearance was in may of 2008. the second appearance showed improvements in May as well, 10 days after it's predecessor. now I bring you his final version, which is still unfinished. unfortunately during the time between may 2008 and now the clay actually hardened slightly and is difficult to work with. especially on areas like the horns (I don't understand why the horns are so hard to work with, his ear didn't give me any issue). maybe one day I will throw new clay on the horns and truly finish this sculpture, but I think it is time for me to move on.
